Le Cool has always been a magazine done by locals for locals. Despite being founded by a Swede living in Barcelona the first editor was a Catalan and most of the writers were natives as well.

We are all for seeing the magazine set up and run by a someone that is not from the city although from an editorial point of view it is crucial that the core team includes several people that are either natives or that have spent many years in the city.

We always do the magazine in the local language and target the selection of the content, stuff the tone of voice and the attitude to match the local community.

So what about a translated English version?
We don’t recommend any city to start with two editions but just focus on one, the native language. We are happy to include the expats into our readers although we focus on the ones that can read and understand the local language. That way we can create all the content for one target group; locals that are integrated into the society and can enjoy all kinds of events including those in local language (films, theater etc.)
